Description

What are the red objects being carried by many men in the foreground? They are firearms wrapped in cloth bags. Yes, this is a Daimyo procession; following the group, processional spears can be seen at the left, above the thatched roof.

In the middle of the paddy field pathway, which connects the foreground to the housing area, two ladies are resting and are observing the procession. The group of houses is the Yoshiwara red light district, and in the far distance Mt. Fuji is visible.

Most objects such as the procession, rice fields, clouds, and houses are laid out horizontally, and only the pathway, which stretches diagonally, connects those groups.

This seems to be a relaxed procession because none of the men walking in line are looking ahead; instead they are all looking around here and there.
