Mt. Fuji rises in the distance beyond the morning mist, with the morning sunshine behind.

In the foreground, we see the town of Isawa, with many thatched roof buildings. Although it is still dark, many travelers have already started their day; some walking, some on horse back, and some in palanquins.

This is a post town along the Koshu Road, and behind the town is the Fuefuki River.
