"Tranquil" is the word that came up into my mind at the first glance of this image. No ripples disturb the flat surface of the lake, no people are visible at all, and by the lakeshore, Hakone shrine stands quietly, surrounded by tall cedar trees.

Mt. Fuji is still covered with thick snow, indicating that it is winter. This is now known as Ashinoko, a large lake that has become a popular spot where tourists can enjoy boarding decorated boats.
