Description
The large ship covered with large curtain is for Daimyo group and in the following boat the attendants are riding.
Some resources tell that local people often entertained Daimyo in the ship with nice dinner. When the banquet is held in a ship they had to cover it with curtains.
This is the view from the west side of Hamana lake and the Daimyo procession is going to arrive at Arai station seen on the right.
The two boatmen seen on the left are each standing on the edge of the rocking boat and yet poling steadily. They must have enormous skill to balance their body!
