Description
Shinagawa is only about 8 kilometers from Nihonbashi. Here we see the tail end of a procession passing the row of Hatago (inns) .
People - passers-by and working ladies - are getting out of the way and waiting for the procession to pass by.
Shifting our attention toward the sea, we see many heavily-laden sailing boats coming toward the shore.
