Description
This image is well known because of its unique and dynamic way to draw Mt Fuji - with the tip of the mountain bursting out of the frame emphasizing the magnificence of its shape.
As the subtitle ('morning Fuji') shows, this is a scene of early morning. The east side of Mt. Fuji is taking on the glow of the morning sun.
The three travelers must have left Hara station early in the morning and now walking the flat area along Suruga bay. The two cranes in the bare field add a good accent to the peaceful and quiet morning atmosphere.
The load carrying man’s kimono pattern is decorated by Hiroshige’s mark!
