Description
The dynamic composition by placing the big torii (shrine gate) on the foreground is quite impressive. The four travellers in the foreground - apparently blind masseurs working their way down the highway - are passing by the gate.
In the far distance at the top of a small mountain Yugyo temple can be seen.
Fujisawa had been not only a temple town but also an important transportation hub where many roads crossed. Once this place became a Tokaido station, the town flourished even more.
At the end of the bridge, there is a house with three lanterns hanging. Hiroshige drew his symbol mark 'hi ro' on them!
