Description

Nihonbashi is the starting point of many roads that spread in all directions from central Edo.

Most Daimyo processions start at dawn when peddlers are also busy carrying fresh fish and vegetables from nearby markets.

The tall feathered poles are symbols of Daimyo processions which apparently walked about 33 kilometers per day.
