Description

The signature reads Harushige 春重. When young, he was a disciple of Harunobu. He also used the name, Shiba Kokan 司馬江漢.

Because it is known that he actively learned Chinese and Western styles of drawing, this must be one of his early works; the perspective is completely wrong while the elegance of the women is well depicted.

We can't read the poem completely, but it seems that they are enjoying the sound of releasing the fish into the pond, feeling the coolness. Similar effect commonly practiced by Japanese people; the sound of wind chimes in summer feels refreshing!
