Description
A woman holding a teapot is standing while a man is crouching and roasting something like beans. The gray objects in the basket beside the stove must be charcoal.
At lower right, the artist's name is written as "Shunsho". In the cartouche on the upper right, a poem by Kisen-Hoshi, one of the "Rokkasen", six notable Japanese poets, is written. The poem says: "Waga Iho ha/ Miyako no Tatsumi Shika so Sumu/ Yo ho Ujiyama to Hito ha iu nari 我がいほは(わ)都の辰巳 鹿そ(ぞ)住む 世ほ(を)宇治山と 人は(わ)いふ(う)なり"
We see no connection between the poem and the image. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.
