Description

In this print Toyonobu presents a beautiful young woman battling a strong wind, clutching her kimono and being blown back by her open umbrella. A willow branch is similarly battered by the wind in the background.

While Toyonobu produced several prints featuring beautiful women battling strong winds, we have been unable to find the original of this print. Please let us know if you find it!

The poem is read as Kaze ni Nami yoruheya sono Yanagi-goshi (風になみ よるへや その柳こし), which describes the woman's willowy figure swaying in the strong wind.
