A courtesan in a beautiful kimono sits with her dog on a leash, resting after taking it for a walk or perhaps preparing to go out. This reproduction is of one of only two known prints by the ukiyo-e artist Hanafusa Shigenobu, who designed prints in the style of Suzuki Harunobu in the 1760-70s. The hairline of the courtesan has been very delicately carved.
