Description
The beautiful courtesans Kaoru and Eguchi of the Shin-Kanaya discuss a letter in this print by Koryūsai from his Hinagata Wakana no Hatsu Moyō (雛形若菜初模様, "Models for Fashion: New Year Designs as Fresh as Young Leaves") series.
The hairlines of the courtesans have been very carefully carved, and the patterns and layers of their kimono are a highlight of the print. The original print was probably published around 1776.
