It is a snowy day, and two birds are perched on a camellia branch. The upper area is covered with clouds and willow branches, holding plenty of snow. The fluffy snow flakes are depicted with an embossing technique. It is interesting that all the white areas, snow and the heron, are the original paper color but they look whiter than the clouds.

While the white heron and the black crow create a strong impression, the red camellia flowers add more variety to what might otherwise be overwhelming contrast.
