Description

Tanikaze was a very strong and popular sumo wrestler, and Naniwaya Okita was a teahouse girl well-known as one of the models for Utamaro's beauties.

The hairlines and eyebrows of both individuals are amazingly delicately carved, and the strong contrast between the sumo wrestler's masculine body and the young lady's supple features is depicted vividly.

The artist is Katsukawa Shuncho.
