The actor is Nakamura Nakazo II (中村仲蔵), playing the role of Aramaki Mimishiro Kanetora (荒巻耳四郎金虎).
Sharaku depicted in the dancing figure with remarkable realism, capturing the toe shape of the lifted foot, the standing tiptoes, and the comical neck position. His right hand appears to be on the verge of striking the hand drum.
His kimono is decorated with many lucky symbols (Takara Zukushi), such as cloves, scrolls of wisdom, money bags, balance weights, the seven treasures mark (Shippou), and gemstones.
