Description

The lady, working at the teahouse named Kagi-ya, was one of the three beauties of the Meiwa era (1764–1772) and is often depicted as a main character in woodblock prints.

In Harunobu's era, creating multi-color woodblock prints became possible by inventing registration techniques and making color blocks; these prints are called Nishiki-e.

Parts of the design, including the man's hood, the column base, her tray, and his sword sheath, are overprinted in a deeper black for rich effect.
