Description
This is from Hokusai’s famous ‘One Hundred Views of Mt. Fuji.’
The scene is Muko-jima, located along the Sumida River. On a warm beautiful spring day, cherry blossoms planted along the riverbank are full bloom. How could people stay home and miss the blossoms and nice view of Mt. Fuji?
In the center, a temporary resting place can be seen. Hokusai depicted many different types of people; all are enjoying the beautiful and peaceful day.
In the lower right corner, triangular thatched roofs are seen, balancing Mt. Fuji in the upper left.
