Description

This is one of the images from ’One Hundred views of Mt. Fuji’.

The image is a view from near Taisei temple, in current-day Shizuoka Prefecture. Travelers are seen walking on a steep mountain path, and the group of people in the foreground might be visitors to the temple.

Many strangely shaped rocks are visible, and even Mt. Fuji looks peculiar, depicted in a way much rougher than commonly drawn. The clouds expressed using kimedashi (embossing) are floating beautifully in the sky.

In the middle of the image, mist is rising from the valley, and the environment is surrounded by greenery; it must be so nice to walk in this place on such a beautiful day!
