Description

This is from Hokusai’s famous ‘One Hundred views of Mt. Fuji’, created when he was in his mid 70s - his mature stage.

While the original version was monochrome, this Takamizawa version has many colors. They decided on a dark red for Fuji, and multiple colors for the dragon, emphasizing the eeriness of its existence.

The numerous swirling clouds produced by the dragon’s tremendous power enhance the strength of its movement. Is the dragon fascinated and does it want to climb the mountain?
