Description

The subtitle is Koshu Hi-buri: Koshu is the name of a place and hi-buri is a method of fishing, attracting fish with firelight.

This is a late night scene; many stars are visible in the pitch dark sky. Some men are holding torches to attract fish while others are busy pulling nets or grabbing fish. The stream is rough and rapid, presumably carrying plenty of fish.

In the right foreground, a white splash of water is seen, indicating a waterfall. This is a very vivid and full of motion image.
