Description
This image depicts a woman who is in love. Her eyebrows have been shaved - normally a sign of marital status - so Utamaro leaves us to wonder just who she may be thinking of as she rests her hand on her chin pensively. The Kimono patterns with small birds and dots are very well done. The sober color combination of her kimono and hair sash accentuate her matured beauty.
