Description
Dressed in an ornate kimono with a beautifully patterned obi, a woman steps out of her palanquin into the dusk or dawn. Her lips are pursed, and her eyebrows furrowed. She appears to lean forward, suggesting that she is in a hurry. The background scenery mimics a suiboku-ga (ink painting). This kuchi-e is believed to have appeared in a story by Fukuchi Ōchi titled Ōgi no Urami (扇の恨), which was included in volume 4, issue 11, of "Bungei Kurabu" magazine, published in Meiji 31 (1898).
