Description
A young woman lies on the sand at a beach in this romantic kuchi-e by well-known artist Kajita Hanko. Her kimono loosely hangs around her shoulders, and she resembles a mermaid washed up on the shore. The frontispiece appeared in volume 14, issue 8, of Bungei Kurabu, published in Meiji 41 (1908).
