Description
A man, assumed to be Kurahashi Kōzō, appears in the foreground of this print by Toshikata. He holds a broom, and a pot of tea and a cup are pictured on a tray beside him. Perhaps he has cleaned up and prepared the tea for his visitor, who can be seen at the gate.
This illustration of Kurahashi Kōzō appeared in the third volume of the novel Tōsei Gonin Otoko no Uchi: Kurahashi Kōzō ("A Modern 'Five Chivalrous Men'") by Murakami Namiroku.
