Description
A beautiful woman takes a nap, her hands under her head, in this restful print by Kajita Hanko. She has wearied while reading, and, with all the time in the world, relents to her drooping eyelids. The outline of her face has been printed with a flesh-toned pigment, giving her life, and loose strands of her hair fall over her shoulders in the romantic image. The frontispiece appeared in volume 12, issue 9 of Bungei Kurabu, published in Meiji 39(1906).
