Description
This elegant woman lost in thought, holding her pipe, represents the theme of "deeply hidden love" from Utamaro's Kasen Koi no Bu ("Anthology of Poems: The Love Section") series of five prints on different types of love. The prints in this series were produced in the ōkubi-e ("close-up portrait", 大首絵) style that Utamaro was famous for.
Quite a few years back, Dave made a reproduction of one of the prints in the same series as this one (mentioned above), and thought it might be interesting to produce a little quiz about the designs.
