This print depicts actor Ichikawa Danjûrô IX as Kamakura Gongorô Kagemasa, with an unknown actor as the Prince (Shinnô) in the play Shibaraku ("Just a Minute!"). The image is based on this ukiyo-e, the fifteenth print of the "The Eighteen Great Kabuki Plays" (Kabuki jûhachiban) series published by Hasegawa Sumi in the Meiji period.
