This print depicts actor Ichikawa Danjûrô IX as Teruhi no Miko, with an unknown actor as Kishô in the play Uwanari ("Jealousy"). The image is based on this ukiyo-e, the seventh print of the "The Eighteen Great Kabuki Plays" (Kabuki jûhachiban) series published by Hasegawa Sumi in the Meiji period.
