Description

This print depicts actor Ichikawa Danjûrô IX as Ghost of Kagekiyo (Kagekiyo bôkon) in the play Gedatsu. The image is based on this ukiyo-e, the fourteenth print of the "The Eighteen Great Kabuki Plays" (Kabuki jûhachiban) series published by Hasegawa Sumi in the Meiji period.
