Description

A pair of copper pheasants are resting on a rock looking in opposite directions. The tone of the entire image is quiet with muted color but for one tiny area - the face of the male pheasant in the center - where a strong dark red is applied as an accent. He looks very gallant compared to the female on the right.

The wagtail on the left is commonly observed wagging its tail up and down and running along the ground. For the very dark black color on the bird, the ‘shomen-zuri’ technique (front rubbing) is used, and the neck and chest area are embossed in a feather pattern.
