Description
A quail couple is on the right - with the male in front looking around and the female pecking at food on the ground.
The small wild plants are also very carefully depicted. The wild violets with their large leaves, and the female horsetails, which are shown here at three stages of blooming. All are very realistically drawn.
The delicate and mild color balance in this image produces a very peaceful and quiet feeling.
