Description
Two courtesans open a sliding door a fraction and venture out into the cold morning to wash their hands. The stance of the first woman gives us the impression of intense cold and that she cannot wait to go back inside. The woman behind her clutches her thick robes under her chin, trying to prevent the cold from reaching her neck. The snow rests quietly on the shrubs and fence in the garden - it snowed last night, but has stopped now.
