Description
A group of elegantly dressed courtesans cross a wooden bridge, laughing and chatting as they go. They carry parasols, perhaps to protect themselves from the hot sun or from a sudden light shower, and wear ageboshi "hats" to protect their carefully arranged hairstyles from the elements and show their high rank. A ship is moored in the foreground, its plain white sails setting off the beauty of the women's colourful clothing.
