Description
In this image ‘bokashi’ gradation technique is used everywhere - background, chrysanthemums, feathers of the pheasant and so on. Also for the center part of the blooming chrysanthemums, the ‘karazuri’ blind-embossing technique is applied.
The very mild pink background enlivens the quite strong and somewhat noisy colors used for the bird and plants.
The poem is read ‘Kiku no ka ya / fukumeru tsuyu no / chiru tabi ni’ 菊の香や ふくめる露の ちる度に
I wonder if this pheasant enjoys the nice and fresh scent of chrysanthemum! (S.I.)
