Description
A horizontal ōban print showing Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay from Satta (located in modern-day Shizuoka), from Hiroshige's "Famous Places of Our Country" (Honchō Meisho) series. One traveler pauses on the steep path to enjoy the view. The original print was produced around 1837 by Fujiokaya Hikotarō (Shōgendō). A later, smaller Hiroshige print produced by Sanoya Kihei (Kikakudō) bears a strong resemblance to this work.
