Description
A stunning view of the famous Amanohashidate ("Bridge of Heaven") sandbar in Kyoto Province, from Hiroshige's "Famous Places in Japan" (Honcho Meisho-zue, 本朝名所) series. The use of straight lines (the boats, the strip of land, the birds) is an interesting feature of the print. The original work was produced in 1837. Amanohashidate remains a popular tourist spot to this day.
