The Japanese title ’Noryo 納涼’ implies methods of cooling down during a hot summer. This image depicts the idea perfectly well: the lady enjoys the cool evening breeze from the water. For the thin stripe of her kimono pattern a very subtle yellowish color is applied as well as gradation technique. The ‘kimedashi’ (deep embossing) technique is effectively used for the full moon, to give it the appearance of floating in the evening sky.
