Sets of prints produced in the Meiji and Taisho periods often included a table of contents print such as the one we have here. The table of contents lists the twelve prints which make up the set, bound here in an album. The use of bokashi gradation, a metallic pigment, and karazuri blind-embossing show that the print has been carefully designed and printed to match the quality of other illustrations in the set.
