Description

The Japanese title of this print, goshūgi, refers to the Japanese custom of giving money to someone at a celebratory event, usually a wedding. In this print, however, we seen an elegantly dressed young woman setting up decorations for New Year's festivities, an apt theme for the first of the twelve prints in the set.
