Description
The moon begins to rise on a warm summer night in Ryōgoku in this chū-tanzaku from Hiroshige's "Famous Views of Edo in the Four Seasons" series. We only see one main beam of the Ryōogoku Bridge in the print, the structure's full size and shape left to the imagination. A man steers his boat quietly through the wooden beams, planning on selling his watermelons during the evening.
