Description
This is one design from a set of four images by Hiroshige: 四季江都名所 (Shiki Koto Meisho) (Four Seasons at Famous Places in the Capital), and is sub-titled: 春 御殿山之花 (Haru, Goten-yama no hana)(Spring, Blossoms at Gotenyama). Hanami - cherry blossom viewing - is one of those Japanese cultural phenomenons that hasn't changed all that much since Hiroshige's time. This lady is ready for the evening visitors to the park ... with her hibachi to prepare the yakitori, and a kettle of hot o-sake. She'll sell out, for sure ...
