Description

Upper image: He is now at the bottom, having become a street beggar. Even the Gods of poverty are leaving, as there is no longer a place for them. The bad guy doesn’t show any regret or reflection about his behavior and just complains.

As bad souls are still clinging to him he will have no hope of recovery!

Lower image: In the alcove behind the (now) elderly couple, a sea bream and round rice cakes are placed. Considering the clothing and other gorgeous food, this seems clearly to be a New Year celebration scene. The image on the scroll is Ebisu - another one of the Seven Lucky Gods.

Daikoku - shown at the top right - is very pleased with the couple’s accomplishments. He is happily celebrating the new year with good souls.

The good couple has passed a rich full life, and their son is now married to a nice lady. Everybody is very happy and will live happily ever after!

Any comments are welcome! (S.I)
