Description

Upper image: The rice dealer is in a downward spiral; rice prices have crashed.

The man in the center is a junk dealer who is buying up his belongings; we see in his bag some scrolls, a lamp, and assorted dishes and other items.

Entering at the left - being pulled in by the bad souls - we see two gods of poverty (‘bimbo-gami’). Once these gods enter a home, the resident will clearly slide down into an abyss of poverty.

Lower image: It’s the end of a long hot summer day. The older attendant shows appreciation by cooling the master with her fan. The hard working husband is looking over the day’s sales results. His business appears to be going very well.

At the upper right we see Daikoku again. The good souls are bringing him into this family.

Any comments are welcome! (S.I)
