Description
Upper image: The ‘story’ from the previous images continues here. The cutting of the red cord by the bad souls tells us that a divorce has just been finalized.
At the lower right we see the inkstand (Suzuri) and brushes with which the rolled sheet of paper (the divorce declaration held by the ‘go-between’), has been written.
Lower image: Also a continuation from the previous page. The lovers are happily getting married. This is a simple wedding ceremony scene - indicated by the clothing, three layers of red sake cups and the pot held by the ‘go-between’. We learn from the captions at the bottom, that the elderly sick father has passed away, and the young bridegroom is planning to open a general store.
Good souls are fastening the red cord between the couple tightly!
