Dear Kubota-san,
I am a nurse on an oncology ward. Have been for over eighteen years now. I understand very well where your journey is going now.
Rest assured that all the people who have the privilege of having received a print on wich you have done the printing have a piece of your legacy with them at home. Your spirit will forever live on in our homes!
I have been to japan three times and have a few dear friends over there. Your dedication to whatever you do is unrivaled. I am so much in awe!
I wish you lots of strength and peace for your journey on!
Stefanie

Kubota-san,
I write to express my sincere gratitude to you for sharing your artistry with the world. I live in the Rocky Mountains of the Western U.S. and only recently discovered the world of Japanese woodblock prints. I now possess a small but growing collection of prints that you had a hand in producing. They occupy a special place in my home and regularly brighten my day with their beauty.
I am saddened to hear of your difficult health situation and hope that you and your loved ones may find comfort and peace.
Warm regards,

Kubota san,
Your artistry has reached to Greece. I have come from the other side of the world to admire and collect your pieces of art. I also started my first steps in woodblock printmaking and as far as printing you are my mentor through your work even if we have never met. Thank you!

Dear Mr. Kubota, Mr. Bull, and the Mokuhankan Team,
I am deeply saddened to hear about Mr. Kubota’s illness, and with this short message, I want to express my heartfelt sorrow. My thoughts are with him and his family, hoping to offer some support during this difficult time.
The dedication and professionalism of Mr. Kubota are just as impressive as his humility. His outstanding and precise craftsmanship is incredibly rare nowadays, and it has always been a great joy whenever I could open a new package from him.
I only discovered Mr. Bull’s channel about a year ago when I started delving deeper into printmaking techniques (I am an artist myself). From the very first day, I was captivated by the quality and authenticity of the videos and livestreams, and within just a few weeks, I had watched all the available content in chronological order. I tried to absorb every little detail, and I can truly say that everyone involved, directly or indirectly, has played a significant role in inspiring me. I am now, albeit still in a very amateurish way, taking my first steps in this fascinating printmaking technique.
For this, I want to sincerely thank the entire team, Mr. Bull, and of course, Mr. Kubota!
At times like this, work naturally fades into the background. However, I still want to express how much Mr. Kubota has positively influenced my life, despite the great distance between us and the fact that we have never met in person. For this, I will always be deeply grateful to him.
I wish Mr. Kubota and his family all the very best and much strength in this difficult time. I truly hope that knowing how profoundly he has impacted people both near and far, and how beloved he is for his dedication to his craft, may lift at least a small burden from his heart, as well as from the hearts of his family members.
Sending you all my very best wishes from northern Germany (Bremen), and wishing you all the best!
Warm regards,
Maximilian Völter

I am new to Japanese woodblock prints. My first and only subscription so far is "Dreams of Future Past". I am thrilled to have some examples of your work.
Mr. Bull speaks of you so highly that I am saddened not to have a chance to know you better.
I wish you every comfort and blessing in this difficult time.

Hello Kubota.
My name is Kuba. Discovering woodblock prints changed my life and how i see my work as a furniture maker. My family doesn't understand your craft and doesn't like the idea of how time consuming and precise it is. But seeing your extrordinary, resplendent work i learned the value of disciplined and careful work with attention to detail. I believe i can share those values in my furniture workshop and with my clients.
Thank you Kubota! Best wishes!

My friend, I am very sorry to hear about this. I found your work online while my family was visiting Japan. We were amazed by your work and were hoping to learn from you. My family is a group of artists. Unfortunately my father, also an artist, passed away too soon. I think he would have really loved your work. If you see him someday, say hi to him. I miss him dearly. Your work touched me and inspired me to learn and pursue a new art that excites me and fits my style and taste. You are the stepping stone for a new passion for me. Thank you!

Kubota-san,
Please accept my most sincere thanks and appreciation for sharing your passion for traditional Japanese woodblock printing.
I have greatly enjoyed your art through David's videos for several years, and have often chuckled at his delight when receiving another set of your prints. It has been an honor and privilege to explore your vision and craft through these glimpses.
And while it saddens me to know that those moments have come to an end, it is also a joy to know that your legacy and passion will be preserved through David's Mokuhankan Museum and Gallery of Traditional Printmaking.
Indeed, you and David have helped me gain more appreciation for the work of my own mother's mother. She too was an artist, and her chosen medium was also woodblock printing. She lived in New York at the time, and much of her work was created to illustrate several books published in the 1930's and 40s.
As young children my sister and I spent many afternoons in her studio, where she helped us make simple prints of our own. Of course they were nothing of note. Instead, she gave us something much more. She planted a lifelong appreciation of creating with our own hands and minds. Now more than 50 years later, we both continue to create and share that joy with others.
Again, thank you, and know that you and your family are in our hearts.

Dearest Kubota-san.
It has been several years now, since I discovered Mokuhankan and your wonderful woodblock prints. Their production has been a revelation to watch and holding them physically in hand has been an exceptional experience that is difficult to put into words. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me many, many hours of pleasure and I shall always think of your hand - perhaps printing my own copy of the Great Wave or one of the various subscription prints that I have received over the years. Thank you for sharing your talent and passion with us, and wishing you and your family every strength. God bless.

Dear Mr. Kenichi Kubota,
I just wanted you to know that your work helped show me a whole new world to japanese wood block printing. David Bull has had unending praise for you, and that praise is absolutely deserved. You've helped bring truly wondrous scenes to life over many years (at least from what I've seen on Dave's YouTube channel). Please know that you are very much an inspiration. I've discovered that there is so much beauty in not just the final product from the long road from carving to print, but also the process of continually generating consistent high quality prints over many years. Rest well and know that there are so many of us who love your work because you loved it. Thank you so much, and we will always keep you in our hearts.
