Kubota-san, I only know of you from watching Dave's livestreams but I always enjoyed seeing close-ups of your work whenever Dave opened a package of prints you completed. I appreciate the beauty of your finished prints and admire your consistency as a skilled craftsman. Your years of dedication to your craft inspires me from halfway around the globe. Thank you.

Dear Kubota-san,

I am writing to you from the United States, North Carolina.I am deeply moved by the immense dedication and skill you have poured into your craft over the years. In an age where so many things are made quickly and without care, the work of a true shokunin like yourself stands as a testament to what is possible when mastery, patience, and heart come together.

Your prints are not just ink on paper—they are the result of a lifetime of discipline, quiet excellence, and the kind of craftsmanship that is becoming rarer with each passing day. Through your hands, tradition continues. Through your dedication, countless people around the world have been able to hold and appreciate something truly special.

Please know that your work has brought joy and inspiration to so many, myself included. The touch of a true craftsman carries something beyond skill—it carries soul. And that, Kubota-san, is something that will never be forgotten.

Thank you for everything you have shared with the world.

With deepest respect,

Hunter P.

The name Kubota-san is spoken every day in my home, either aloud or in my mind, every time my eyes fall upon one of the images you printed. Here in a place on the other side of the world, your name is known, and will be remembered.

The beauty of your work is a gift I can never repay. I started practicing woodblock printmaking myself, in part because of this beauty. It has given me joy in my life like no other. Sadly I am not able to share this joy with you, but your impact will carry throughout my entire life to come. Urs Kober

I don't know Kubota-san, or even their face, but I've seen some of their work over the last few years on livestream and the way Dave reveres them for their ability to do such a task. Through that, I haven't seen someone attempting to impress an employer, but to show others a powerful level of skill that humans can reach. Although I'm a stranger, I see a significant character trait through your work that I wish to adopt and carry on. We never know how much our work can impact the world.

Takeoff was the first woodblock print I ever purchased. I count myself lucky, not only to be able to appreciate the beautiful artwork but to understand all the effort and labor it takes to bring it to fruition. Thank you for your work, I'll be able to share it with my family and friends for years to come. -Ken Robillo

Your work has brought me immeasurable joy and wonder in its detail, precision, and sheer beauty. To you, though, I'm sure it was just all in a days work. Rest easy and comfortably, you legend. Thank you.
