Description
This page, the first of the set, provides some important details about the prints' production. We can see from the date, for example, that the set was produced on the 21st of November, 1925, and that the calligrapher was the Edo moji specialist Ota Shiccho. Shiccho's name is also in the lower left-hand side of the print next to the hiragana づ (図), which tells us that he was the artist of the illustration in this print. A number of other names appear on this first print, probably the main sponsors of the production. The autumn leaves in the upper left reflect the season in which the set was produced. The series was produced by the Toto Nosatsu-kai (東都納札会) senjafuda group.
