Some travellers clamber up a steep slope to visit stone deities enshrined in a cave next to Kiyotaki Kannon Waterfall on the Tokaido route, while others arrive at the thatched huts below. Rivulets of water run through narrow crevices in the rockface, and a damp mist begins to encroach on the small village as night closes in.
