Description
This print, Eri Yosooi, shows a beautiful young courtesan with her back to us using a mirror to help her apply a white cosmetic powder to her neck and face. The young woman wears a beautiful kimono patterned with small birds, probably plovers. Another highlight is the printing of a white pigment to depict her make-up - it appears in the shape of her hand on her neck, so we get the feeling of really being "in" the moment - she has just applied it and will rub it in soon.
